I have an HP HyperX OMEN 15-gb0015NT (R5 240, RTX 5060, 8 GB). HP's official website states that it has two M.2 SSD slots. I opened up the chassis and found a section labeled "SSD2," but there is no actual port to plug an SSD into. Shouldn't there be one? What can I do in this situation? (My goal was to add another 1TB drive to reach a total of 1.5TB.)

Hi @Klauezio

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you opened your HP OMEN 15-gb0015NT with the intention of installing a second M.2 SSD and found a motherboard location labeled "SSD2," but no physical M.2 connector is present.

To better assist you, could you please provide:

  • A photo of the area labeled SSD2 on the motherboard.
  • A photo of the currently installed SSD.
  • The Serial number (S/N) of the notebook. via private message.
  • A screenshot indicating two M.2 SSD slots.

Please note that on some notebook models, the motherboard may be manufactured with markings for optional components that are only populated on certain configurations. As a result, a board may show an "SSD2" location even if the physical connector is not installed in that specific model.

Once we review the photos and Serial number, we can confirm whether your system supports a second SSD, requires an additional connector/bracket, or is limited to a single M.2 storage device.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.

@Pallipurath I don't have the option to send private messages on my profile yet. Could you please send me a private message first so I can reply to you with my Serial Number and the requested photos?
