That link got clobbered so I looked up your activity profiles and found a few items that seemed IMHO to be never answered correctly
Re: Product Information not valid
Updates for windows 7 and likely 8 cannot be obtained using the normal 7 or 8 update tools built into windows. The microsoft servers are no longer present and the internet explorer that came with 7 or 8 will be blocked at many website.
You can probably put Windows 11 on and it will run fine although it will have a nag screen unless you want to pay for the license. I assume you are running 10 now but I cannot be sure. Let me know if you want to put 11 on such as "tiny 11" or whatever.
Re: Those IDT drivers
If you are running window 10 then try the sleep report and sleep study and see if it reports a problem and give a solution to try. Reference this document
It is possible that the hibernation file is causing the problem. If you have fast start enabled on your laptop then when it resumes from sleep it could use a hibernation file to quickly load. This depends on your power plan
To fix a problem with fast start (other than disabling it) try this:
1 - make sure the audio is working
2 - delete and re-create the hibernation fill as shown below
To get a new hiberfile do the following. Enter 'CMD' in the windows search and select 'run as administrator'.
Be sure to close other apps to avoid losing data during the hibernation.
powercfg -h off powercfg -h on shutdown /h |
|
Note that Windows fast start using the hibernation file.
The Fast Startup feature in Windows allows your computer start up faster after a shutdown. When you shut down your computer, Fast Startup will put your computer into a hibernation state instead of a full shutdown. Fast Startup is enabled by default if your computer is capable of hibernation |
Make sure your system is working correctly. If a device is not working when you create the hibernation file, that device will be marked as not working every time your system resumes. This will be true even if the device is fixed.
Let me know what happened

I just want to clarify both those issues are involving the same EliteBook 8440p.
Well on my end Windows 7 and Windows 8 update servers are still working properly. I was updating Windows 7 and then after a restart the BIOS message appeared with "Product information not valid."
And the problem isn't hibernation the problem is sleep, when the laptop goes to sleep and I turn it on, the microphone stops working. In fact hibernation actually resolves the issue, the microphone starts working again after turning laptop on from hibernation. I get the feeling that this is a BIOS problem and the "Product information not valid" and the microphone not working are related to one another.
