HP Laptop 14-bs153od
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a HP Laptop 14-bs153od and I tried to  installed a 2.5in SATA SSD internally in to the space where a Harddrive should go, but it does not seem like the computer recognizes the drive. I looked into device manager for a sata controller but it does not show one. There is no option in the EFI setup to enable the SATA controller. I suspect that it has been disable from the factory by design, i would just like to confirm that  before i tell my dad, that he wasted money on the SSD, and that it is not possible to upgrade the storage on this laptop and he is stuck with the 64GB emmc.

Hi:

You are correct.

You cannot add a SATA or M.2 SSD to that specific model.

The 64 GB eMMC is all that will work.
