Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Laptop 14-ck0061st Intel Pentium purchased in September 2018, used daily. Last week when I opened it, the bottom left corner starting coming apart from the hinge that connects the bottom to the screen.  I purchased an additional warranty but when I went to Staples today they said I had to call some other number...? They were not very helpful.  Is this something that might be covered or do I need to take it to a local shop?

The additional warranty is likely offered by a third party and may offer some help but warranty providers tend to run for the hills on screen hinge issues and claim customer abuse. We can try to escalate your concerns to HP and see if some help might be available and if that fails would be happy to discuss what would be needed to fix it in the way of parts and labor. Most people when they find out what is involved in this repair just buy a new laptop, particularly when the laptop was not a high end model to begin with. Forgive the plain talk I do not work for HP.
