Product: HP Notebook - 14-dk0053od

I recently bought a HP Laptop 14-DK0xxx (DK0053od AMD A4-9125 Radeon R3 to be exact) used. It was basically brand new. The previous owner told me he upgraded the ram to 16G and the hard drive to a 2.5in 1 TB SSD. Unfortunately, i have been doing some digging and I'm pretty sure he didn't upgrade the hard drive to the SSD, and it still has the factory 1tb (Model ST1000LM048-2E7172). I would like to keep the 1tb as backup storage and install an SSD to run the OS. what interface compatibility do you have? I would hate to spend a bunch of money and have it shipped just to find out it's not going to work.
