Question how can I upgrade the existing RAM from 8 + 4 GB to max value? 16, 32?

If your system has 2 slots you can install a maximum of 16 Gb according to the maintenance and service guide http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06146800

 

Be aware that this memory is classified and not user upgradeable which means removal of critical components might be necessary.
