HP Laptop 15-bs0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good morning.

I have an HP Laptop 15-bs0xx and would like to be able to use 2 external monitors so that I can extend the display from my laptop to each of the external monitors without duplicating the display on both external monitors.

Unfortunately this laptop has only 1 display port (HDMI) it has two USB 2.0 ports on the right hand side and 1 USB 3.0 on the right side. I was wondering if I could add in another HDMI or display port; HDMI or USB Type C so that I can run cables directly to both external monitors.

Unfortunately a HDMI Splitter 1 x 2 is not working. When I extend the displays to 2 HP 27eb monitors, I retain the laptop screen but both external monitors are duplicated when I use the extend option.

I'm really looking to have the ability to extend both external monitors so they have their own unique display so I can have MS Excel open in one screen and MS Project open on the 2nd external monitor and have my email open on my laptop screen. So three independent screens. Is this possible and if so how can i do this?

Thank You,

Regards,

Ray

An HDMI splitter is just that...divides the signal into 2 identical channels.

You can use a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter, and connect one external monitor to the existing HDMI port in the laptop and then another to the HDMI port provided by this device:

You should then have 3 separate displays available and can extend the desktop from whichever one you choose to be primary across the other 2.
