- Hello friends i spilled ice tea on my laptops keyboard 4 days ago and wanted to clean the keys by putting them in a bowl of Warm water with liquid soap. After All that i had to put them in the keyboard again but i dont know how to explain it, the clips should be horizontal but its like here in the photos i added.

Hi @Hasan2702,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It's unfortunate to hear about the spill and subsequent keyboard issues with your HP Laptop. Here are some steps you can take to address the situation.
- Avoid Further Water Exposure: While washing with water might seem like a solution, it could lead to further damage if moisture seeps into the keyboard's internal components. It's important to avoid using water or liquids when cleaning electronic parts.
- Dry Thoroughly: If not already, ensure that each keycap and the keyboard itself are completely dry. Allow them to air dry on a towel for at least 24 hours.
- Keyboard Reassembly: Reattaching keys to a laptop keyboard can be tricky as it requires aligning the clips correctly. If the keys do not snap back into place easily, double-check the alignment and the clips' orientation.
- Use an External Keyboard: As a temporary solution, consider using an external USB keyboard until the issue with the laptop's keyboard can be resolved.
Avoid further disassembling or using liquid solutions on your laptop to prevent potential damage.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
