I need to know what I am missing in trying to get the cover off so that I can install more RAM. All of the videos for HP laptops have hidden screws, but this newer style does not have as a solid undercarriage. A video would be ideal, but will settle for what I am missing. All visible screws are out as well as those near the DVD. Cover is not popping off and feels like there are hidden screws under the rubber banding that serves as a cushion for computer base at front and back.

You are right there is/are screw(s) underneath. Do you remember during the good old days, vendors put something to cover one screw, removing that cover was similar to breaking warranty.
Regards.

There are two screws above the dvd-rom after removing it. There are also six screws hidden under the two long rubber feet. One at each end of the foward strip and four under the rear strip. Just lift the ends of the forward strip but you have to completely remove the rear strip.
