When I unplug my laptop, it immediately dies and then takes about ten minutes to restore all of the display, starting with a black screen that indicates the battery is drained. If I need a new battery, what is the best way to get that done? Do I take the laptop to a local computer repair shop--that usually takes two weeks before I get the laptop back. Or is there a quicker way to get the battery checked out and replaced if necessary? Here are the details for my laptop: Thanks for your suggestions.

None of the numbers you have given is the model or product number for the laptop which we need to identify the right battery.
Look at this page and it tells how to find the model number. With that we can help you find a battery and installation instructions.
