My laptop battery is swollen and I need it repaired. It's out of warranty, but I'm willing to pay. However, the virtual agent only directs me to here. I'm not sure what to do.

Even assuming you can get HP Support to accept an Out-of-Warranty repair case,

You have to remove the battery - you cannot send the computer through the mail in this condition.

You should also remove the battery to protect the rest of the components inside the computer.

The battery will fail, likely sooner rather than later.

The practical "first steps" after not closing the computer:

What to do Today and every day that you continue to use the computer?

Do keep all your data (files and folders) backed up to other than on the computer itself.  Current backups are essential to protect your data.  If the computer suddenly becomes unusable, it will be too late to backtrack.

What to do?  How to do it?

After you remove the battery, you are half way to having fixed the whole thing yourself.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. Thanks for answering.

It is already out of warranty. Bought is Nov 2018. It is still quite new. Barely 2 years old

It is hard to contact HP philippines. The service centers here are a rip off. They are charging 300usd for a questionable battery, who knows it might get swollen again. Do you have an upgraded model? They are also charging 30 usd just to open the loose thread cover

I feel helpless.
