Hello, I have been dealing with the following problem for the past 2 weeks. Attempting to solve this problem I have tried probably all the ''solutions'' proposed, without success.

Problem:

As described in the title, my battery % stops charging at 60%, then it will charge back to 61% to stop again in this cycle.

In doing so, my computer becomes completely useless as the performance dramatically decreases once the battery stops charging.

The problem stepped-in after 2 weeks of use. It was working fine before that.

Solutions I tried, multiple times:

1. Uninstalling the battery hardware in ''device manager'' and then rebooting

2. Emptying completely the battery to 0% with help of memory extensive check in loop (while in the boot-up menu before windows start-up, using escape key to access).
Then, removing and unpluging the battery from the laptop, draining any residue with the power button kept pressed for 45 seconds.
Re-charging the computer whilst off completely (I as well did this while on). Re-running a battery check.

3. Checking with HP hardware diagnostics - components test - battery.

4. Troubleshooting battery trough control pannel.

I as well did those steps together, nothing works. Can someone please provide me with an answer that is not generic like those.

By the way, my laptop is 4 weeks brand new.

Will I need a battery replacement..? And if so, does HP community have a link for me to purchase one, to give another chance to this pc.

Cheers. Thanks for your time.

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to fix the issue with those solutions either.

I will order a new battery and hope it will work out.

Cheers
