HP Pavilion - 15-cs3067nl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

My HP laptop crashed twice yesterday with the two following .dump files.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_pUyDEO3hF_5Zre1Y2mLO4yyxq2sBLJN/view?usp=sharing

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VseXiiV8d65HX5kYX-KURHalNBOaZI3R/view?usp=sharing

My suspect is that it was due to Graphic Card drivers.

I asked for help in the Microsoft Community, this is the thread link Crash Windows 10 - Microsoft Community.

In addition some days ago the screen went black for a couple of seconds for no clear reason.

By analyzing events I found a crash of the application igfxEMN.exe which is related to Graphic Card.

Furthermore in those days the system seemed to become very unstable with problems  regarding Malwarebytes (I uninstalled it but the system crashed anyway) LockApp.exe.

Microsoft Community told me to update drivers using the computer manufactures' site or Windows Update.

Windows Update says there are no available updates

HP support assistant does not seem to detect a compatible driver for my Graphic Card (you can find it at the bottom of this post).

Here is the available drivers that I get for my device:

driver_HP.PNG

I searched for the drivers on Intel site and I apparently found compatible drivers with my graphic card:

Intel_driver.PNG

Microsoft advised me against installing drivers from places different from HP and told me to do a factory reset and re installing everything with Windows Update

What should I do?

Here are my system informations:

OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit,

OS version 10.0.19043, Build 19043

Graphic Card: Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics

Processor: Intel core i7 1065G7, 1.30 GHz

Bios Version: Insyde F.15 03/09/2021

You can safely install the drivers from HP see the hyperlink below.

Your notebook does not have discrete video graphics.  Notebooks don't have video cards.

The video graphics solution is provided by the Intel processor chip. Install the latest Intel Ice Lake video driver and the  updated chipset driver.

I downloaded "Intel High Definition (HD) Graphics Driver (Windows v1909)".

As I tried to install it, I got an error "ERRRORLEVEL=183" in a file FAILURE.FLG

Should I try the other version or to install drivers manually from disk?

Try the type that I suggested.

The Ice Lake name refers to the processor that you have and is what should be used.

The driver I downloaded was "Intel High Definition (HD) Graphics Driver Ice Lake (Windows v1909)".

Sorry for the mistake

No worries.

 Try the other driver.

You can try the newer driver from Intel as well. That will not cause any damage.

Attempting the installation won't hurt anything as an incorrect driver simply will not install.
