In the last 8 months I have been having issue with my laptop and adapter when it comes to charging. Recently this problem seems to have worsened and I am not sure what to do.
So 8 months ago my laptop started not charging and would display "plugged in, not charging", I tried the recommended solutions and it didn't work for a while but then all of a sudden I would have a 100% charge when before it would stall at 37, 48, 72%. But in the last 2 weeks my laptop randomly discharged to 30% even when plugged in and wouldn't move above the percentage and accompanying this discharge was a a cracling, pulsing sound coming from the speakers. The sound would aslo effect the display, although not drastically but looks like small waves.
I get conflicting battery check results. When not plugged in, the battery is ok. When plugged in it may say fine and other times it says battery is faulty.
I don't know what is going on.

Welcome to HP support community.
Try these steps to fix battery issue:-
Unplug the charge and use the laptop until the battery drains to 15%.
Turn off the laptop and turn it back on after 30mins.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager:
1) In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.
2) Expand “Batteries”.
3) Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
4) Click on “Uninstall”.
5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver
6) Shutdown the computer.
7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.
😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.
9) Go to Device Manager.
10) Expand Batteries.
11) Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software"
Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.

Thank you for the reply, first I'm sorry for not mentioning but my battery is non-removeable but I did try the suggestion and it didn't work.
The noise is still there and its from the speakers and the audio because the sounds still occurs when sound is on mute. The laptop still charges because when on 10% it charged to 28% then stops. This has to be either a software issue or faulty battery but the systems aren't picking it up.
I think the best solution is to take it to HP and hope the problem can be fixed without loosing my data.
