Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

A few hours ago the software parked the drive during a drop, for which I'm thankful. After I switched on the laptop, I notice it's operating properly, but the indicator light on the laptop itself has stayed amber. I rebooted and the light stayed amber. I checked device manager and it shows it's working properly. Documentation says it should have switched off when I turned off and on the laptop.

Any suggestions?

Hi:

 

The only suggestion I can offer, would be to see if doing a hard reset of the notebook resolves the problem.

The light switched off by itself half an hour after I posted this.

 

Btw, this is a (definitely not recommended) way to check if that HP Mobile Data Protection actually works 🙂
