My sons computer has an error code come up when you turn it on.  I did the system extensive test and it says Hard disk failed.  It gave me a long FAILURE ID code

UBTXNX-8Q69RA-XD7URG-60U603

I tried to get help with the viral but that didn't work.  I was just going to do a hard reset on computer but I can't go anywhere except the system test

Any ideas please

Hi, @HOTTKAT1

TheBestofWorld is correct that you will have to replace the hard drive to fix the problem.

Judging by the model number of your notebook, which I obtained from the failure code, I doubt the PC is under warranty unless you paid for an extended warranty.

Here is the link to the service manual where you can find the hard drive removal and replacement procedure.

You may want to consider replacing the failed hard drive with a better performing, normally more reliable 2.5" solid state drive (SSD).

After you replace the hard drive, you can reinstall W10 by using the HP cloud recovery client utility to create a bootable recovery drive.

Here is an info link for how to use the utility...
