Is there Something wrong with Windows 25H2 version? As it's thrice in this month this No audio device installed came. I have Pavilion-Plus 14 ew-1082tu and I also use hp pre build equaliser. I did bios audio check and it passed with the beep audio check. Why not in windows i can hear?? Also HP website doesn't have drivers for 25H2 only 23H2 and 24H2 drivers are there.

Hi @e1lliot4

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how unsettling it feels when the BIOS audio check passes but Windows still shows “No audio device installed.” You’ve already done a thorough check, and I appreciate the effort you’ve put in.

Let’s go step by step to bring the Pavilion Plus 14 ew‑1082tu audio back to life in Windows:

Step 1: Confirm Windows Audio Service

  1. Press Windows + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  2. Scroll down to Windows Audio.
  3. Ensure the service is running and set to Automatic. If stopped, right‑click and select Start.

Step 2: Check Device Manager

  1. Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Sound, video and game controllers.
  3. If your audio driver is missing or shows a yellow triangle, right‑click and choose Scan for hardware changes.
  4. If still absent, proceed to reinstall the driver.

Step 3: Reinstall Audio Driver

  • Go to HP’s driver page for your Pavilion Plus 14 ew‑1082tu. Even if the drivers are listed under Windows 23H2 or 24H2, they are compatible with 25H2.
HP Pavilion Plus 14 ew‑1082tu Drivers
  • Download and install the Realtek High Definition Audio Driver and Intel Smart Sound Technology Driver if available.
  • Restart your laptop after installation.

Step 4: Run Audio Troubleshooter

  1. Press Windows + I to open Settings.
  2. Navigate to System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
  3. Run the Playing Audio troubleshooter and follow the guided steps.

Step 5: Verify Output Device

  • Right‑click the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sound settings.
  • Under Choose where to play sound, ensure your laptop speakers or headphones are selected.
  • If nothing appears, click Add device and let Windows detect.

Step 6: Update BIOS and Chipset

  • On the same HP driver page, check for the latest BIOS update and Intel chipset drivers.
  • Install them carefully, as they often resolve hardware communication issues.

Step 7: Test with HP App Equalizer

  • Open the HP App and check the audio equalizer settings.
  • Reset to default and test playback again.

The combination of reinstalling the Realtek/Intel audio drivers and updating BIOS usually resolves this “No audio device installed” message.
