Pavillion?

Hello!

I am wondering if there is anything I can do about the broken hinges on my laptop. The laptop is out of warranty, however everything is working fine on it aside from the broken hinges, which have caused the plastic holding up the display screen to crack over time because the screen is not properly supported. The broken hinges occurred with normal use, not from carelessness. On the phone with customer support, they acknowledged that this was a manufacturing issue, but that I was not able to get it repaired because too much time had passed since I purchased the laptop. I have seen other customers talk about the HP design issues that have caused the hinges on their laptops to break.

Is there anything I can do? I don't understand how I'm responsible for HP's design issue. I do not have money for a new laptop or a repair. Even though the laptop is older, it would still be in perfect, usable condition if not for the design issue that led to the hinges breaking when they shouldn't have. I would understand if there was other damage that was my own fault, but the hinge design issue is well-documented and customer support representatives also acknowledged that it was a manufacturing issue.

Thank you for your help!
