I have an HP Notebook 14-an012nr, I need a way to read the M2.0 hard drive outside of the laptop.  the laptop itself is DEAD, but the M2.0 Drive has my wifes files on it.    the M2.0 drive is a proprietary drive and uses the ribbon cables to connect to the motherboard.   Is there some sort of aftermarket reader that would allow me to get the data off the drive?

It specs says it has eMMC drive. Normally eMMC drive is soldered to the motherboard. Can you remove it ? If yes, you can use USB 3.0 to eMMC adapter or something similar to

to extract data/files.
