Hi!
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c06143647?jumpid=reg_r1002_usen_c-001_title_r0002
I'm looking for info about the aforementioned HP laptop. It has 8 (2x4GB) gigs of RAM and a 256 GB m.2 SSD.
What I'm wondering, can I upgrade either of these and if, how and in case of RAM, by how much?
To be more exact, can I upgrade the RAM to 16 (1x16 or 2x8 GB?) gigs and does the Mobo have a second slot for another SSD/HDD (2.5" SATA slot or another m.2?) or would I have to replace the original m.2 and so reinstall everything?
I looked through the repair manual and it's one of those manuals for multiple machines telling "your model may or may not have a slot for an additional HDD..." So didn't find much help there. 🙂
Thanks for helping.

According to the maintenance and service guide, maximum memory is 2x8 gb for a total of 16Gb.
The largest Nvme drive shipped on this product was 256mb. I would check Crucial Memory website for drives they offer that are compatible as likely larger drives are supported but they can confirm as they test these things.
Adding a larger hard drive does not necessarily require reinstalling everything. There are USB to Nvme adapters out there that allow you to connect both hard drives at the same time and then "ghost or clone" the old drive to the new one. Most drive manufacturers offer software like this. The adapters are available on Ebay and Amazon.

Thanks for the answer! I'll have to look into the RAM upgrade then. 🙂
I found on another thread a photo of the same exact computer's insides, so I'll just have to buy the HP connector cable for a SATA SSD and jam a second drive in the empty bay, so no need to swap the m2 drive.
Thanks for the help!
