I have purchased a new Notebook with default 8 GB.Now I want to upgrade with more 8 gb ( 8 + 8 ).
But the issue is when i check in task manager it shows 2400 Mhz Speed and when i check in hp support assistant it shows 2667 Mhz. I can't understand which is correct because i have to purchase the correct one.Can i upgrade this without going hp authorized center if it's warranty not void ?

Hi:
Below is the link to the product specs for your PC.
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c06406325
The processor it has only runs the memory at a max speed of 2400 MHz.
HP is going to install whatever memory is available at the time of assembly, so it is very possible that they installed a DDR4-2666 MHz memory module. But it only runs at 2400 MHz.
I would get one of the same spec just so they match.
Below is the link to the service manual. You can install an additional 8 GB memory chip in the empty slot.

Warranty...since this is a peer to peer forum, we are not authorized to speak on behalf of HP regarding warranty terms.
This is what you can expect...you will most likely not void the warranty unless you break something in the process of upgrading the memory.
If you need to return your notebook for warranty service, HP will ask you to return it to its original configuration, which means you may have to remove the additional memory you installed.

Thanks for reply.
Can you please suggest which Mhz Ram should i purchase (2400 or 2666) because currently 2667 is shown ?
Is there any possibility if i purchase 2666 Mhz and it is not supported in dual channel scenario?

You're very welcome.
I would get the same 2666 MHz memory spec. As long as you add a matching capacity memory chip ( 8 +8), it will run in dual channel mode.
See if you can get this memory part number in India...it is compatible with your model notebook.
