HP Notebook - 15-bs001ni
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good day

I ran a diagnostic test on my hard drive and the short+long test failed. The reason why I did this test, is because since 2018 I had to reinstall the operating system, for the notebook kept on taking me to a recovery screen.

1. Should I replace the HDD?

2. If so, what should I buy?

Transcend 240GB 2.5'' Sata3 SSD220 SSD Drive - I came across this one. But let me rather ask the experts to help me please?

Thank you

Hi:

Yes, you will need to replace the hard drive if you are getting the 24 character failure ID codes.

See if you can get this popular selling model in South Africa.  It has the best performance for the price.

If not the Transcend drive you picked out should work too.

Look, if you really really want a hard drive, try getting Seagate or other kinds of hard drives. But if you want a drive with less problems and something that's faster, try getting a Solid State Drive (SSD). I don't know which one, but try searching for Samsung drives, or HP SSD's, or Intel.
