HP Notebook - 15-bs033cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to replace the HDD with a SSD for boot up & file access speed.   I found this post that includes a link to the

Service Manual so I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get at the internal HDD. The post says that you can add an SSD without having to remove the HDD.

- Can I install this 1TB Sandisk SSD Plus as the new boot drive in the M.2 bay?  Assuming it does fit do I change the boot order through bios (are there instructions anywhere)?

- If that SSD won't work in the M.2.  Would it work as a replacement for the HDD?

Thanks in advance for any help.

That M.2 SSD should work without issue.

You can change the boot order by powering on and tapping the Esc key. In the Esc menu choose Boot Order. Select the M.2 SSD.

The M.2 SSD will only work in the M.2 slot.

The original drive that is already installed is a different type with a different physical interface type. It is a legacy electromechanical mobile 2.5" hard disk with a SATA interface header.

Once you have the M.2 operating as your boot disk and have transferred all mportant data and programs to it, the original disk can be used as a data storage disk. That is  a configuration in which how many new notebook are delivered from the factory.

Thank you for the quick answer.  The SSD I have is a Sandisk Plus with a SATA III interface?  Will that work in the M.2 slot?
