HP Notebook 15-da1005dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP Notebook 15-da1005dx with a 256GB SSD.

I have an "and/or" question...

Can I install a SATA notebook hard-drive as a second drive;  and/or

can I install a second SSD as the second drive?

Thanks for any help...

Hi, Rich:

There is no link to a service manual for that model.

I have a HP 255 G7 which is basically the business class notebook version of your model.

There is only one M.2 slot for a SSD and models that came with SSD's are missing all of the parts to add a 2.5" SSD/hard drive.

Since there is no manual there is no parts list for the parts you need to add a SSD.

You could take your chances with the HP 255 G7 service manual, but I can't guarantee that model uses the exact same parts.

There is a service video library for your model.

I would imagine that by the time you were done buying the parts you needed to add a second drive, you would have been better off just buying a 1 TB M.2 SSD.
