@royltee

Please try:

1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.

This will open the command prompt.

2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.

There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.

Hi, @royltee

Unfortunately, you cannot upgrade the memory in the notebooks with the Intel® Celeron® N2840 Processors.

Many forum members have tried to install an 8 GB memory chip in place of the 4 GB chip (the notebook only has one memory slot), and no one has been successful.

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 4 GB so that must be an absolute maximum.

HP 15 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide

One SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slot (Pentium, Celeron processors)
DDR3L-1333 MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3L-1333)
Supports up to 4 GB max system memory (DDR3L-1600 MHz module)
