Hi! My HP Notebook 17 is almost 3 years now and I know I don't have any warranty anymore. I have a broken hinges both right and left and I can't seem close it anymore (I'm afraid that if I forcibly close it, it will be totally broken). After searching in the internet if someone has the same issue that I have, I realize that this is a common problem. I am totally careful in my gadgets (I have 2 Lenovo's, one more than 7 years and the other is almost 5 and I don't have a problem with the hinges at all). My HP notebook is just setting in my desk for this past almost 3 years, never dropped it or anything like that. In short, I don't believe this not because of how I use my notebook but it is because of how it was built. So, my question is, how can I get an HP Support Service to fix this and if HP would cover the service? I am looking forward for response. Thanks in advance.

Hi@hj103,
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Apologies for all the inconvenience
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I appreciate your efforts to try and resolve the issue. This sounds like hardware related issue with the hinge assembly and in order to fix this issue, your computer needs to be serviced. As we have limited support boundaries in the support community as of now.
I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.hp.com/contacthp/
