HP Notebook - 17-by0040nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've been trying to install a supported HP EX920 M.2 512GB PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe SSD in my HP Notebook - 17-by0040nr. BIOS V F.10

In the InsydeH20 BIOS System Configuration Screen, both the SATA HDD and the new NVME SSD are shown in the UEFI Device Configuration > Non RAID devices.. However, Only the SATA HDD is listed in the Boot Options > UEFI Boot Order > OS boot Manager, the NVME SSD is not.

When installing Windows, the SDD is not an install option. Diskpart only lists the install USB and the SATA HDD.

I have tried to install the HP BIOS update with a Windows 10 USB Rescue Disk but it says it is not supported by the OS.

When I bought the laptop I installed linux on the SATA HDD, and Linux does not see the new NVME SSD either. but I do have a Windows 10 rescue USB and an Install USB.

Please help me get the new SSD recognized by the bios and as an installation disk option.

If you remove SATA HDD, does USB boot see the SSD?

Nope.

Not at all impressed with the latest HP Hardware or Firmware. The fact you have to flash the bios from a full Windows install is rediculous. The fact it cant recognize a new HP SSD that is compatible with the system is infuriating. The fact that the support software just crashes, all of it, without exception, is a joke. What a waste. I'll never buy another thing from HP.
