I'm trying to upgrade my step-daughter's HP Notebook 14-cf1013ds with more ram and storage. I was able to upgrade the ram but the notebook is not recognizing the ssd I got for it. I read the manual and specs for which m.2 nvme ssd is compatible with it and got this TEAMGROUP MS230 256GB SATA III SSD. When I installed the ssd the notebook does not recognize it at all, not in the bios or disk manager. Could it be in conflict with the 64GB eMMC drive that came with the notebook? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're very welcome.
Unfortunately there is nothing you can do.
You're limited to the 64 GB eMMC drive.
I have one one of those 64 GB eMMC drives too.
The only suggestion I can offer would be to get a decent size SD card and your step-daughter can store her files, etc., on the SD card instead of the operating system drive.
I bought a 64 GB Sandisk Ultra SD card for mine.

Hi:
The way I read the service manual, the M.2 slot only works in notebooks with the Intel core processors.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06146792
Dual storage Configurations (Intel Core processors):
256 GB, PCIe, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
128 GB, SATA-3, TLC, solid-state drive + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
16 GB Optane memory module + 1 TB, 5400 rpm hard drive
eMMC Configurations (Pentium and Celeron processors):

Thanks Paul,
I do see now on pg.2 where it lists what is supported by the different processors. I guess I got confused where it didn't list a certain processor next to the first M.2 description.
So is there no way to upgrade the storage since it has a Pentium processor?
