HP Omen 15.6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there, so I purchased my laptop exactly two years ago directly from HP. I hadn't done any work to it or even opened the back end, yet I went to use it one day and it wouldn't start. So I took it to a tech repair service and I've been told it's a motherboard failure. To replace it would be almost $900, which is ridiculous since the laptop was bought for $1000. At this point I have no idea what to do about this, I understand that motherboards fail occasionally, but since it's technically not "within a year of purchase" the factory warranty does not apply. Is there any help that HP or the manufacturer can give with this? Because it feels completely unfair and at the current rate I will not be purchasing another HP again.

System board for new machines now are very expensive. For the HP Omen machines you have to pay for EACH new System board

(a) Motherboard itself,

(b) CPU/Processor,

(c) Video card,

(d) Operating system.

Because all 4 components are on one piece of hardware called System board. You can't buy them separately.

Regards.
