HP OMEN 15 - ek0770ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I received my new Omen 15 laptop a few days ago and am very pleased with the design and specs. I run the laptop on the USB-C (Thunderbolt) port on an HP E27D G4 display, which worked great at first. Unfortunately, I have not been able to get a picture on the display for a few days and the mouse and keyboard connected to the display are no longer available on my Omen 15. I have now completely reinstalled the Omen 15 laptop and had all the functions again for a short time, but they disappeared again after a few Windows & HP updates. I found info on the internet about a donwgrade of the NVIDIA driver, but that didn't help either. A hard reset, pressing the power button for 30 seconds, also did not solve the problem. The display works fine with the same USB-C cable on my HP EliteBook 840 G6, so the problem must be with the Omen 15 and its configuration. I would be very grateful for some tips and tricks...

Thanks......

Hi@Elinea, Welcome to the HP support community.

Request you to follow the below troubleshooting steps that should fix the issue.

Update the Bios, chipset, and audio drivers using HP Support Assistant.

Download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: Click here

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available
