LAST MINUTE UPDATE:

This morning I did a few last tests. I re-installed the battery. I updated the HP Support Assistant to the latest version (I was using the version I had when I first configured the laptop, and it wasn't fully performing the tests).

Turns out this version fully performs all tests AND it is giving me "REPLACE" message for the battery.!  AND also something is happening that hadn't happened before: the laptop is actually charging (it was 81% early in the morning and at the time of this writing it is about 87%). 😀

It's funny that it said"84% charging" and now it is saying "87% NOT charging"....

Now, I will see if it reaches 100%. If it does, I will test disconnecting power and see what happens.

Regardless, I will buy the new battery according to your recommendations.

Thank you very much.

Interesting. That Replace message does tell the actual tale.

Great first name. It is mine as well.

De nada.
