Hallo. I can confirm the same problem. Same hardware laptop.
Tried updating from F38 to 45, mainly because of the battery issue. Update progressed very slow and was abrupted, rebooting with F38 again.
Issue is, no new updates appeared on HP Support Assistant. Had to download all 2018 driver updates manually from HP laptop support website.
BIOS update restarted to UEFI mode to progress with the update.
There was also an Intel Management Engine firmware update before, saying that CPU is patched with new security instructions.

I was having the issue trying to update to F.45 and that solution worked!
Now, I'm having the same issue trying to update to F.46 :smileyindifferent:
Also, my battery does not charge completely most of the times. Should I send it for repairs? It's under warranty.
