Hi @TheMooDSlayer,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand HP.OMEN.VadRedirectHelper.exe is consuming over 1.5GB of RAM in the background on your HP Omen laptop. Let’s go through a few steps to troubleshoot and reduce this memory usage.

a. Identify the Process

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

Locate HP.OMEN.VadRedirectHelper.exe under Processes.

Right-click and select Open file location to ensure it is running from C:\Program Files\HP\OMEN (legitimate HP software).

If it’s elsewhere, it could be malware.

b. Restart the Process

In Task Manager, right-click HP.OMEN.VadRedirectHelper.exe > End task.

Check if RAM usage drops.

Restart the laptop to see if the process starts normally without high memory usage.

c. Update HP OMEN Software

Open OMEN Gaming Hub or download the latest version from HP Support.

Check for software updates for OMEN Gaming Hub, OMEN Command Center, and related drivers.

Updates often fix memory leaks or performance issues.

d. Disable Background Startup (Optional)

Press Windows + R, type msconfig, Enter.

Go to Startup tab, locate HP.OMEN.VadRedirectHelper.exe, and disable it temporarily.

This stops it from automatically running in the background (you can still run OMEN apps manually).

e. Check for Malware / Corruption

Run Windows Security / Defender Full Scan or Malwarebytes to ensure the executable hasn’t been tampered with.

Corrupted OMEN software can cause unusually high RAM usage.

f. Reinstall OMEN Software

Uninstall OMEN Gaming Hub and related utilities via Windows Settings > Apps.

Restart the PC.

Reinstall the latest version from HP Support to ensure a clean installation.

I hope this helps.
