HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer

I have a 6310 printer that I can’t reset the date and time on after a power outage. My question is dose my printer have a battery on the motherboard that needs replacing or is this due to some other issue?

Hi @JB007UK,

Thank you for your response,

It's possible that your HP Officejet 6310 printer has a backup battery on the motherboard that maintains settings such as date and time during power outages. If the date and time consistently reset after a power outage, it could indicate that the battery is depleted and needs replacement.

However, before assuming it's a battery issue, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can take:

  • Check the manual: Look into the printer's manual or online documentation to see if there's any information about a backup battery and its replacement.
  • Reset settings: Try resetting the printer settings to see if that resolves the issue. Sometimes, a glitch in the settings can cause the date and time to reset.
  • Firmware update: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, HP releases updates that address issues like this.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
