OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0013dx

I currently have PNY-32GB (2x 16GB) XLR8 DDR4 3200MHz CL20 installed in my laptop, but it only runs at 2933MHz due to XMP not being accessible in the HP Omen BIOS. I am not new to this problem, however, I came across the HP website that said some memory is verified by HP and is XMP compatible. However, I have no way of seeing what RAM is on that list of HP verified XMP compatible RAM.

This is the link to the website where I saw this. https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/ish_6597206-6597263-16

It also says this on that page "OMEN Gaming Hub does not display memory overclocking features for XMP memory that is not certified by HP."

I have some new Crucial RAM coming in and thought I might give my PNY RAM to my wife and use the Crucial RAM for my computer if it will run at the 3200MHz. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hi:

According to the product specs for your notebook, the memory runs at a max speed of 2933 MHz.

OMEN Laptop - 15-ek0013dx Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support

If you look at the specs for your notebook's processor on the Intel website, it also indicates the max memory speed is 2933 MHz.

Intel Core i710750H Processor 12M Cache up to 5.00 GHz Product Specifications

So, DDR4-3200 memory is going to automatically bridge to 2933 MHz because that is as fast as your notebook's processor can run the memory at.
