HP OMEN 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear,

Currently I own a H

- HP Omen 15

- processor: Intel i7 8750H CPU /

- graphics : Intel UHD Graphics 630 + Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 1050 Ti

with the hope that it would be able to handle games and certain programs, with these graphics card. I have seen alot of videos and reviews on Youtube how it should be able too.

Unfortunately my laptop gets overheat over 90° C + when plugged in, as the battery is going down FAST.

The battery still reduce fast despite not using any heavy program so mostly its plugged in, although it wont overheat ( at this point its around 60-75° C ).

However when I am working with several programs from Autodesk or playing a game  like World of Warcraft (on lowest graphics), while the laptop is plugged it is overheating to 95° C. so I'd just unplug and wait and than plug again...

Several things to mention:

- I am keeping the laptop above the desk so it ventilate under through.

- C drive is at the moment 190GB/237 GB (50gb free)

- I tried several things changing the graphic card setting to Nvidia instead Intel

What is the issue here?

Thanks in advance,

@Omchi20

I believe it in an Omen 15-dc0xxx machine. Yes, it runs hot, over 90°C is the norm. It will shut itself down when too hot. It requires 150W or 200W charger. Have you tried to touch to a classic 100W globe/bulb/light when it's ON before ?

Some members use cooling pad to reduce a bit. many around
