OMEN Laptop 15-en0xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have recently bought the Omen 15. I was going through battery management best practices online but now I'm confused. Here are my two queries:

  • Whereas it's well established that charging the battery till 80% would prolong the battery life, that 80% charge is getting discharged faster as well and I'm having to put on the charger at 20%. In that case, isn't my number of charge cycles reducing too?
  • Is charging the battery till 100% and keeping the charger plugged in not recommended? At times I have to work at my desk for long hours and perform heavy tasks. Also, while gaming it is recommended to keep the laptop plugged in.

So basically my confusion boils down to whether to keep the laptop plugged in at 100% for long hours or to charge it till 80% and discharge.

Thanks,

Souvik

I have gone through the article but I still have the confusion that I have mentioned.
