Hello I wanted to ask if I can replace the existing display to a 40 edp pin B156HAN08.2 ? The current display is really bad, even worse than I expected but what you gonna do. I want to know if it will fit and if I can connect a 40 pin edp connector to my laptop where the existing display is 30 pin.
Thank you.

Your laptop's model series had two optional display cables:
Display panel cable (includes camera/microphone module cable) FHD 60 Hz, 30 pin L24382-001 FHD 144 Hz/UHD, 40 pin L24384-001
The end of the cable that connects to the motherboard will be the same, probably. Which processor and video card combination do you have? I need to research if the 144 hz screen was offered on all models or just ones with the highest end video cards.
So if the motherboards are the same, you remove the 30 pin cable and replace it with a 40 pin cable so you can use a screen with 40 pin input. You could just source the entire screen assembly from HP for the 144hz unit but it will be very expensive and you can come out ahead financially if you just get the 40 pin cable and get a 40 pin screen from an online supplier.
I have not looked for the cable but can help you do so if you wish. Post back with any other questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.
