In July 2021 I bought a new HP Omen 15, model ek0022nl. In the last few months I noticed that the battery life got worse.
Yesterday I decided to do a battery test through Powershell in Windows 10. As you can see from the screenshot, the full charge capacity has decreased (but this is normal, as far as I know).
The problem is that also the design capacity has decreased significantly and constantly. I saw lot of experiences from other users and the design capacity value should not decrease, at least not after a year already.
As you can see from the screenshot, in August 2021, just one month after the purchase and first boot, it had already decreased from the factory value of 70.122 mWh to 68.511 mWh. And if you look carefully, there have been constant, absurd fluctuations.
Where's the problem?
I used my Omen for basic work experience (Word, online lessons and meetings, YouTube) and sometimes for gaming, but for long periods I used it only for basic work. I can't understand what's happened.
I've already used the HP Battery Check tool and it reports that the battery is working fine, but the tool itself reports that the factory capacity was 71 WHr and the residual capacity is only 59 WHr.

Hi @alby961
Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice.

Resetting the ACPI battery driver may take care of this. There will be a hard reset mixed in as well, so the two methods combined typically help a lot with battery issues.
1. Go to Start, search for Device Manager, and open this result.
2. Expand batteries.
3. Right-click on the ACPI option (usually the 2nd option) and select delete or uninstall. Follow the prompts.
4. Shut down the computer.
5. Disconnect the charger.
6. Remove the battery.
7. Hold down the power button for 1 minute.
8. Insert the battery only.
9. Attempt to turn the battery on.
If this had an impact, it should behave differently.
If not, Press the power button and then tap the F2 key to invoke the startup menu.
Choose and click on the F10 key to invoke the BIOS.
Use the System Configuration tab. Disable USB Charging and press the F10 key to save the changes and boot into Windows.
I would suggest please update the BIOS on your PC and check if it helps.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC. It should automatically download and install the latest updates and drivers for your PC.
