Hi there!
My laptop came with the standard 512 GB SSD as can be seen in the specs here. Knowing there were 2 slots, I wanted to bump that up a bit, and thus ordered a Samsung SSD 980 1TB (model MZ-V8V1T0B/AM). Slotted it into the second slot and it never showed up in Windows. Ran the HP diagnostics tool which took some time to check out my factory SSD, returning all success, but almost immediately completed the test for this new SSD with the final step receiving a Short DST Check warning. Saw no options in the Omen-driven BIOS UI to change any settings that might help it get detected by Windows correctly.
After some (admittedly hurried) Googling, I assumed I had just chosen an incompatible drive, even though the Diagnostics Tool recognized it, and opted to return it, ordering a Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus 1TB (model MZ-V7S1T0B/AM) instead. Same issue - failing on the last step of the Diagnostics Tool check and never showing up in Windows. I then found out through Samsung's compatibility checker that both of these drives should be supported. I have also tried swapping my factory SSD into the second (rightmost) slot and using the new SSDs in the leftmost slot, but to no avail.
Am I perhaps just missing a setting somewhere or did I happen to pick two incompatible drives? Any suggestions or insight would be greatly appreciated!

You're very welcome.
Sometimes we overlook the simple things.
I once installed a graphics card in a desktop PC and could not figure out why it didn't work.
Turns out I reattached the monitor cable to the onboard video port again instead of the new graphics card.
