OMEN by HP 15-ax202na Laptop PC
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'd like to confirm that my laptop has a full pciex4 internal interface. Crucial advertise compatibility with this nvme ssd https://uk.crucial.com/ssd/p1/ct500p1ssd8/ct13042941 and I don't want to invest if it is not supported. The drive currently installed uses only a SATA interface over M.2.

Also, I'd like to know if HP whitelist devices for this interface? I would like to connect an M.2 (pciex4) to pcie x16 eGPU riser (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33050886328.html?aff_platform=link-c-tool&sk=_dU3fmA9&aff_trace_key=...).

any help would be appreciated.

@DominicAfonso Welcome to HP Community!

I understand that you would like to confirm that the laptop has a full pciex4 internal interface.

I have checked the manual you can add the M2 Generic SSD 512 GB 2280 M2 PCIe3x4SS NVMe TLC TL. Only one port is available.

(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)

If you wish to upgrade, you can upgrade.

You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

And order it via the HP Parts store: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ

Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support
