OMEN by HP 15t-dh000 CTO
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi Team,

I'm using an HP OMEN 15t-dh000 laptop with 512 GB of original installed memory storage (SSD). I want to upgrade it to 1TB of storage. When I purchased this laptop, windows was pre-installed on it.

Please let me know how to install my older windows in the new storage. Also please let me know the process or steps how to copy all the data from my previous SSD to the new memory unit. After replacing the new SSD what steps do I have to perform to make it work?

Hi:

If you want to transfer everything to the new SSD, you will need to:

1. Buy a USB 3/USB-C to NVMe SSD enclosure to temporarily install the 1 TB NVMe SSD in so you can clone the existing drive t the new one.

Something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/UGREEN-Enclosure-Tool-Free-Thunderbolt-Compatible/dp/B09T97Z7DM/ref=sr_1_3?cr...

2. Then you need cloning software to clone the drive.

You can use the 30-day trial version Macrium Reflect Home software to do this;

Here is a video for how to clone a smaller capacity SSD to a larger one:

Some drives such as Samsung provide free cloning software.

Samsung has the free Samsung Magician software for example.

Below is the link to the service manual:

This tutorial will show you how to clone a disk using Macrium Reflect 8. The destination disk will be larger than the original source disk and we will resize the new partitions. https://www.macrium.com/
