Hello,
I have an HP Omen 17-cb laptop with the following specs:
- CPU: Intel Core i7-10750H
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super (non-Max-Q)
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Model Code: 17-cb0014nw (BIOS F.36)
I bought the laptop used and opened the back cover to clean the system. I noticed that in the VRM area near the GPU, there is no metal heatsink plate or thermal pad — only the plastic bottom case touches it.
1. Is this the original cooling configuration for this model?
2. Could this lead to overheating or VRM degradation during gaming?
3. Should I add thermal pads or is this design considered safe by HP?
Attached is a photo of the opened laptop for reference.
Thank you for your help!
