OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck1000 (509W0AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

I created USB recovery drive using HP Cloud tool.

I added a new 2TB nvme as disk0 slot to my laptop and switched the original 1TB nvme to disk1 slot.

I booted to usb drive and did a factory reset, the OS is installed on the original 1TB disk1 and not to the new 2TB disk0.

I booted from another usb drive and formatted both nvmes, then retried the recovery usb and again it restored the os to the original nvme.

How to recover to the new nvme?

Thanks

I did a similar situation for my friend 3 days ago and after the first try, I decided to go my normal way

1. Clone old SSD to new SSD,

2. Remove old SSD and run on new SSD. The reboot on new SSD make take a bit longer to allow system to do some internal updates

He ran with ONLY new SSD for 1 day (keep the old one for backup) then formatted old SSD and install on slot 2. System automatically assigns it as disk 1

Regards.

@Banhien

The clone trick works thx.

Another thing, any idea how to enable/unlock the advanced settings in bios for HP Omen 17 2022?

As I have 2 NVMEs  andI wantto create a RAID0 array from the bios, but no option there.
