Hello,
My F5 key is broken and no longer works. I don't want to replace my whole keyboard for one key, but I can no longer toggle the keyboard backlight, as F5 is the key this function is bound to on this model. Is there any way to change the keybind of this function to another key or is there any other way to toggle the backlight? If not, is there a setting that would allow me to have the backlight constantly on? My computer is usually plugged in, so I'm not concerned about the battery drain of the backlight being on all the time.
Thanks.

@nsham01 Here's what you need to do, to ensure the baclit is always on, also, while you go through these steps, I must let you know that there are no options to re-map these function keys, its designed to be the way it is, by default:
If the blacklight stays on for only a few seconds, the backlight timeout setting might need configuring in the BIOS.
NOTE:If there is not a setting for the backlight timing in the BIOS, this behavior might not be supported on the notebook. Check your notebook model's product support documentation to confirm support.
Your BIOS version and screens might vary.
-
Restart the notebook, and then immediately press the F10 repeatedly until the BIOS opens.
-
When the BIOS opens, use the arrow keys to navigate to the Advanced tab.
-
Navigate to Built-in Device Options, and then press Enter.
-
In the Built-in Device Options, select Backlit keyboard timeout.
-
Press the spacebar to open the keyboard backlight settings, and then select the timeout setting you want.
NOTE:
If you select Never, the backlight remains on which could quickly drain the notebook battery power.
