@Ou71and3r,

Thank you for posting your query on HP Community,

Does the laptop shutdown right away if the charger is disconnected from the laptop?

Have you tried to use a different compatible charger and check if it helps?

Have you tried to update the Bios on your notebook?

Let's try re-installing the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

1) In the search box, type and open “Device Manager”.
2) Expand “Batteries”.
3) Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
4) Click on “Uninstall”.
5) At the prompt put a check in the box to remove the current driver
6) Shutdown the computer.
7) Remove the battery for minute and then put it back in.
😎 When the computer comes back up it should automatically find the driver.
9) Go to Device Manager.
10) Expand Batteries.
11) Right click the "Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery" that is listed there.
12) Click "Search automatically for updated driver software". Do the same thing with Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller.

Also, try updating the computer -

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.
2) Check for updates.
3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

Please note, if the Bios is not updated, please follow the link to download and install the latest Bios update from our HP support website, using this link.

If the issue persists, Let's Run a battery test using F2 (during restart), if the test failed:

Check with an alternate battery.

Let me know how it goes for further assistance.

I was able to fix the problem by completely draining the battery to 0% until the entire laptop was turned off. When I turned it back on, the error disappeared and the battery started working normally. I hope it helps someone if they run into such a problem.

I have the same issue! Brand new laptop! Have been using it for the past 2 days, suddenly, out of the blue, this error, and I cannot get rid of it. I've tried everything...

@KyleO

I have gone through your post ad I suggest you update the BIOS from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Also run a Battery Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Power > Battery

Keep me posted
