Hi
I have a Hp Omen Pro 15 https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-omen-pro-mobile-workstation/7805649/model/7805650/manuals?sk...
and I bought a new internal 1TB M.2 ssd. https://www.crucial.com/ssd/p1/ct1000p1ssd8
I was able to install Windows 10 (with a usb adaptor) but after replaceing the existing ssd with the new one, the laptop won't boot. The bios doesn't recognize the ssd.
I updated the bios to the latest version.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Laci

Hi @lacigas
I verified the following with the Maintenance & Service guide for your notebook's model series. (see chapter 1 page 1)
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04609916
The SSD you installed has the wrong type of interface for the BIOS.
A compatible M.2 SSD for your notebook must have a M.2 SATA interface.
The Crucial SSD that you installed is an NVMe type which is not compatible with your BIOS and hardware

Hi Erico
Thanks for your quick answer.
I was probably confused because it says PCIe but I guess it is PCIe with AHCI.
The original SSD the laptop came with is an MZHPU512HCGL-000H1 which is a M-key ssd.
I found this samsung ssd that should work, but it is B&M-key. Can I use it?

Thanks for your help!

Hi Laci,
Yes.
That Samsung SSD at Amazon will work.
B+M key means that it fits M.2 slots with either key, so it will fit in the slot in your notebook
