Hi all
We've been experiencing a complete lack of battery charging on our HP Omen for a little while.
After a bit of troubleshooting and diagnostic testing all signs were pointing to a new battery. So we've replaced the internal battery, however the battery is still not charging (either whilst the laptop is on or off).
Decided then to replace the charge, thinking that might not have the oomph to charge the battery and the laptop (albeit wouldn't have explained why no charge when off but what the hell). Still no fix.
Running the HP Hardware Diagnostics window reports no problems with the AC adapter and the battery check comes back fine. I've already searched on the forums and one solution was to go to Device Manager and uninstall the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery. I did this and it appeared to reinstall but still no fix.
Any further suggestions as to what the cause could be? The laptop still powers on with the power cable attached but just no charge is flowing into the battery so it's still operational but just frustrating we can't use it off power (and the new replaced battery is redundant!).

A quick follow-up....
After I posted I figured I would just try taking out the power cable to see what happens. Despite showing as 0% batter (and warning me of low power) the laptop remains on running off the battery.
This suggests the battery IS charging (the previous replaced battery would just turn off instantly when running off battery) so it seems the new battery is good but just that the battery measure is not correctly being received. Any suggestions on how to remedy this?!
