OMEN Laptop - 15-en0023dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've replaced the battery and the power cord for the laptop and it still does not turn on. It will turn on every once and awhile but for the most part it does not turn on. The screen in black and the power button blinks white once and then goes black again.

Hi @CHANDLER7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

I understand that you are having issues with your unit not booting or turning on.

When your OMEN Laptop - 15-En0023dx is not turning on or booting, there are several troubleshooting steps you can follow to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Check Power Supply

  • Ensure the power adapter is connected properly: Check the power adapter and make sure it is securely connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Verify the power outlet: Try plugging the power adapter into a different outlet to rule out any issues with the power source.

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Disconnect all external devices: Unplug any external devices connected to the laptop.
  • Remove the battery (if removable): For laptops with removable batteries, take out the battery.
  • Press and hold the power button: Hold the power button for about 15-20 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter: If you removed the battery, put it back in and reconnect the power adapter.
  • Attempt to power on the laptop: Press the power button to see if the laptop turns on.

3. Check for Indicator Lights and Sounds

  • Look for indicator lights: Check if any lights turn on when you press the power button, such as the power indicator or keyboard backlight.
  • Listen for sounds: Listen for any sounds, such as the fan spinning or the hard drive starting up, which indicate that the laptop is receiving power.

4. Perform a BIOS Reset

  • Connect the laptop to power: Ensure the power adapter is connected.
  • Press and hold the Windows + B keys: While holding these keys, press and hold the power button for about 2-3 seconds, then release the power button but keep holding the Windows + B keys.
  • Wait for BIOS recovery: If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

5. Check the Display

  • Connect to an external monitor: Use an HDMI or other compatible cable to connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the external monitor displays the screen, the issue may be with the laptop's internal display.

6. Reseat RAM and Storage Drives

  • Open the laptop: If you are comfortable with opening the laptop, reseat the RAM and storage drives. Ensure they are properly seated in their slots.
  • Check for loose connections: Inspect all internal connections to make sure everything is securely connected.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there could be a hardware issue that requires repair or replacement parts.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
