My Omen isn't under warranty and it needs a new motherboard. I found the part in the HP Store, but it says the part is not able to be ordered through the parts store. Since I'm not in warranty there is no other way to contact HP is there? I'm not sure how I could order the part or at least get a price on it. Thanks!

HP doesn't keep motherboards in stock much longer than the warranty period. Not really sure how resellers get their hands on any, if they buy HP's stock at a certain time when they want to get rid of them or they work with HP's suppliers at the production run. Or perhaps the suppliers make more than HP orders, and resell excess to resellers.
I do know that for a time there are new motherboards out there at resellers not connected with HP. In your case it's past the time where there are plentiful. There are a lot of resellers out there, and also eBay sellers that buy all the laptops that come off lease, strip down the parts and resell them. It's hit and miss on refurb motherboards, I've found. I guess I've had bad luck with them.
Also there are services out there that will do board level repair with fancy equipment. The cost is usually in the $200 range.

I did a quick search for resellers for 15-Ax250wm Intel i7-6700HQ system board, GeForce GTX 960M, 4 GB HP part number 856678-601, found some used ones starting at $350 US to $600. At that price, plus the cost of installing it you are well into the cost of a new laptop.

Thanks Mate. Very helpful info. This all leads me to an issue though. The parts store doesn't say they are out of stock. There are a bunch of parts that do say out of stock, or on back order. But then there are parts that just say "Part is not orderable in the HP Parts Store", like this motherboard. This would lead me to believe that they have them, but aren't letting people order them through the store. Ok fine, thats annoying, but I'll just contact them directly to order or get price, right? Umm no, at least not that I can see. There is no contact info, no email address, no support ticket site, etc.... Only an option to pay them $99 for "One time support". In what world is that acceptable?
Do they really not pay you to do this? They offer zero in support to their customers and rely on good souls like your self to do this for free? Please tell me I'm wrong.
